Fashion is an inclusive industry, and its unique charm lies in the ability to express our opinions about social phenomena in various ways.
The <AFTER PARTY> project was inspired by my daily life. Currently, many Gen Z-ers are highly social but often feel lonely. Frequent socializing prevents them from forming close friendships, and the smiling faces seen under party lights quickly fade away once the crowd disperses. Only they know how lonely they truly are. Exciting parties, like cigarettes and alcohol, provide temporary distractions, leaving them feeling even more isolated than before. Through this work, I aim to portray the contrast between the inner feelings of young people during parties and the aftermath of those parties by juxtaposing the liveliness of the events with the discarded remnants. My goal is to draw more attention to this group of extroverted yet lonely individuals.
The inspiration for <MOTHER'S BELLY> came from playing with my mother at a water park, which brought back memories of our childhood playtime together. The first time I engaged in water activities, my mother encouraged and supported me, giving me the courage to participate. She embraced me and slid down the water slide with me, creating a strong sense of security. The protection of a mother and the inclusive nature of water reminded me of the safe and nurturing environment within a mother's womb and the miracle of life itself. Through this work, I aim to express my gratitude to my mother and raise awareness and concern for women.
<Covid-19 Halloween> was inspired by my three-year experience of living through the pandemic. During COVID-19, people's perceptions and attitudes towards epidemic prevention and control have undergone significant changes. We have observed that excessive measures for prevention and control have influenced people's impressions and brought about psychological transformations. By examining the epidemics of 1918 and 2019, we can compare people's preparedness and response to these crises.
For me, fashion, artistic creation, and daily life are intertwined. Life is a journey of exploration, continuous learning, and ongoing progress.
